Biography

Missy Hyatt - The First Lady of Wrestling

Missy's pro wrestling career began in 1985 in World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW), where she managed her boyfriend at the time, "Hollywood" John Tatum. Missy feuded with fellow valet Sunshine and in 1986 participated in the famous "mud wrestling" match at the David Von Erich Memorial show in the Texas Stadium.

Missy and John left WCCW for Universal Wrestling Federation (UWF) and teamed up with Eddie Gilbert to form Hyatt and Hot Stuff International, which also included Sting and Rick Steiner. Off-screen, Missy and John broke up and Missy started dating Eddie Gilbert. They were married in 1988. Missy briefly left UWF for World Wrestling Federation (WWF) to host "Missy's Manor", an interview segment that was designed to replace Piper's Pit on WWF television. That didn't work out and Missy returned to UWF.

In 1987, UWF was purchased by Jim Crockett Promotions. Missy worked as a commentator and also managed The Steiner Brothers and Eddie Gilbert. Missy hosted shows for WCW and feuded with Paul E Dangerously, a fellow commentator. In 1994, she managed The Nasty Boys, Ric Flair and the Barbarian. She left WCW in 1996.

In 1997, Missy briefly worked for Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) where she managed The Sandman and Shane Douglas.

Since then, Missy has written an autobiography and continues to pursue her education. She still works indy shows, conventions and autograph sessions and works on her websites.

Missy currently lives in New York with her two Jack Russell Terriers, Jake and Milo, and volunteers as a "foster mom" for RussellRescue.com, a non-profit group that rescues Jack Russells that have been abandoned or abused. As Missy says, if you don't know Jack Russell Terriers, then you don't know Jack!
